Moorpark is a city in Ventura County, California, located to the west of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Incorporated in July of 1983, Moorpark is 12.44 square-miles in size.
In 1887, Robert W. Poindexter named the city after the Moorpark apricot which grew throughout the valley. The city has a large agricultural industry and is known for their many farms and fields of crops.
The Moorpark Unified School District is the largest employer in the city.
